The Wateree Hounds is more than a traditional fox hunting club—we’re a community built on a foundation of expertise, stewardship, and time-honored tradition. Our meets and events foster camaraderie while honoring the sporting heritage of Camden, South Carolina.
Whether you’re an expert or novice fox hunter, we invite you to explore the sport, attend social events, and help carry forward a legacy that honors the past while shaping the future of the hunt.

Founded in 2020, the Wateree Hounds have become the cornerstone of the fox hunting community in Camden and Kershaw County. Guided by the Masters and a Board of Directors with more than 300 years of combined fox hunting experience, we’re dedicated to providing exceptional hunts and preserving the timeless traditions that define the sport.
Our mission continues after the chase ends, as we are equally committed to supporting conservation throughout the Camden countryside. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we host educational programs and open new trails to keep our landscapes accessible and unspoiled for generations to come.
Throughout the year, the Wateree Hounds host special events that unite members, guests, and local supporters. From October through March, we host more than 70 fox hunts across premier territories showcasing South Carolina’s beautiful countryside. Social soirées and educational programs reflect our lively spirit, commitment to conservation, and Southern hospitality.
